about

This is Radio Dopgpile. A musical opus spanning years of collaboration and connected energy.. Far more than just myself went into making this project and I thank each and every one of you for helping make this happen. You know who you are. I want to thank you my supporters and loved ones for your patientce, I promise it was worth it. Most importantly however, I want to thank those that came before us.. The originators of this music and culture. In a time of so much complaining about the state of hip-hop and what it "represents" I leave you with this: There will never be another "Golden Era" because it happened already, be the change you want to see in the world of hip hop. There are no chambers to enter, no more bizarre rides. We will never hear another Illmatic or Ready to Die. This is no longer how we chill from 93 till... But collectivelly, in my opinion, Rap is on the wrong side of the tracks in our beats rhymes and life. The Konfusion is well organized, and public enemy number one has become the ones of us that rise to question.... From Gangstarr's to dead gangsters the machine has been well played, the lines were crossed and the I's dotted long ago. WE are the Inner City Griots,WE all of us the ultramagnetic MC's the Original B-Boy's and B-Girl's,the super producers, the graffiti artists, WE are all of the soul. So what we do have is time, its always against us, but we have it. Its TIME to pick up the pieces, to dust off the ole relics of "Back When Rap Ruled" and accept them as that, furthermore knowing hip hop itself is progression, to embrace that through death there is life, we are immortal if we allow our music to resonate beyond the constraints of the modern era. It is our jobs as artists to better our legacies, what more do we have beyond what we leave behind? Everyday Im hustling to find my way, to solidify my footprint in existence. Its time to shed the mark of a tainted and delusional culture, and embrace what we fell in love with in the first place: Expression, defiance, humility, perseverance, and the individualism that is HIP HOP! When Nas said hip hop is dead, it is because it is, but we rejuvenate life into that which is lifeless each and every time we pick up a pen, put a needle on a record, pop n lock, or put a cap on a paint can. I know this to be true and I hereby promise you, all of you, that on this day, and on everyday forward, I will continue to mold my modal, and not let the best of my today's be better than the worst of my tomorrows, with a smile on my face, and a open heart I leave you with my latest life contribution, and ask that you take the five minutes of your day it will take to do so, and leave me your takeaways from this post and this piece of work. I love you all. - Ian Harrison.... A.K.A. Muenster. That is all.... Good night, and good luck. Gitmo Music Group. All we have is what we leave behind.
